Hi all,

Just sharing a noise my car started making when braking at low speeds.

I am putting a video here in case it has happened to someone else, I would like to hear if you found what it was. Thanks

Can you feel a vibration in the pedal that corresponds with the sound?

Yes I can feel it.

The mechanic says it is due to rust on the brake rotors. He says because the car is not driven as much (because I work from home now) they are seeing that rotors are accumulating rust. That rust would normally be removed with regular driving.

The solution he gave was just actually to drive it more often and keep an eye on it, if it gets worst he is recommending a brake service or perhaps replacing rotors.

I usually experience this when I've parked the car after driving in wet conditions. And since the e-brake seems so delicate with its sensors; I just find a flat surface and leave it off.

My rears do it after every rain when I back out of my driveway. It's just from rust and will wear off as you drive.

Hi all, the mechanic said it is from rust and that I make sure I drive regularly. He says that with people working from home and cars not being driven as much he is seeing this more often. So the solution is to go out and drive more which is great!
