I like to gather all the information about the stock and diy BBK into 1 thread.
I'll start with as much information about the stock honda brake system that i can find.
Feel free to add any information that you found.I will add more information when i have time .

Stock Brake rotor size:
2016-2020 Honda Civic hatch/sedan/coupe 282mm x23mm front , 260mmx9mm Rear.
2017-2020 Honda Civic SI Sedan/coupe 312mmx25mm front , 282mmx10mm Rear.
2017-2020 Honda Civic Type R 350mmx32mm front , 304mmx11mm Rear.
2017-2020 EDM Honda Civic Sedan/Hatch 293mmx25mm front , 282mmx9mm rear.

Brake master cylinder size:
2017-2020 Honda Civic SI Sedan/coupe : 7/8"
2016-2020 Honda Civic Hatch/sedan/coupe : 7/8"
2017-2020 Honda Civic Type R : 15/16"
2017-2020 EDM Honda Civic Sedan/Hatch: 7/8"

Brake Booster size :
2017-2020 Honda Civic SI Sedan/coupe : ?
2016-2020 Honda Civic Hatch/sedan/coupe : ?
2017-2020 Honda Civic Type R : ?
2017-2020 EDM Honda Civic Sedan/Hatch: ?

Brake caliper size :
2017-2020 Honda Civic SI Sedan/coupe : Front caliper = Nissin 57mm single piston , Rear caliper ATE 38mm.
2016-2020 Honda Civic Hatch/sedan/coupe : Front caliper =Akebono 57mm single piston , Rear caliper ATE 38mm.
2017-2020 Honda Civic Type R : Front caliper Brembo 4 piston 40mm , rear caliper ATE 38mm
2017-2020 EDM Honda Civic Sedan/Hatch: Front Caliper ATE 57mm single piston ,Rear caliper ATE 38mm

Note 1 : Front caliper Bolt spacing on all calipers (including type R) is 140mm Center-Center .Which is also used on most 1992-2015 civics.

Note 2 :Civic SI's that use the Acura TL-S brembo caliper and TL-S rotors have a brake bias that is very close to stock. Allthough the only upgrade made here is the caliper .

Big brake calipers

- '05 - '12 Acura RL : 4 piston Advics 2 piece caliper with 43/43mm pistons.OEM rotor is 319mmx28mm ,total height 50mm.
Will need adaptors (fastbrakes) to mount onto the hub and is mostly used with 350z (brembo) rotors 324mmx30mm. Radial mounted

- '04 - '08 Acura TL-S : 4 piston brembo 2 piece caliper with 38/43mm pistons.OEM rotor is 310mmx25mm,total height 45.4mm.
Uses M14 bolts and will require you to drill out the hub holes to 14mm.OR use thread inserts into the caliper .( Big-Sert, Time Sert)

- '10 - '16 Hyundai Genesis Coupe : 4 piston Brembo Monoblock caliper with 42/42mm pistons.Oem rotor is 340mmx28mm,total height 56.7mm.
Mostly used with Nissan Rogue with 3rd row seats 320x28mm rotors.

- '04 - '07 Cadillac CTS-V : 4 piston brembo 2 piece caliper with 40/44mm pistons.Oem Rotor is 355mm x 32mm ,total height 50mm.

- '00 - '06 Lexus LS430 : 4 piston advics Monoblock caliper with 43/43mm pistons.Oem rotor is 315mmx30mm ,total height 50.3mm.
These calipers are very similar as the Acura RL calipers ,except these are a monoblock and are cheaper .Radial mounted

- '06 -... Lexus LS460 (non touring): 4 piston Advics monoblock calipers with 43/43mm pistons.
Oem rotor is 335mm x 30mm ,total height 60mm.The LS460 calipers are not radial mounted like the LS430 and are much bigger .

- '06 -... Lexus LS460 Touring: 4 piston advics monoblock caliper with 43/43mm pistons.
Oem rotor is 357mmx34mm,total height 60mm.Same as above but even larger.

-'01 - '06 Honda integra Type-r DC5: 4piston Brembo 2 piece caliper with 36/40mm pistons.Oem rotor is 300mm x 25mm ,total height 57mm.These bolt straight onto the 10th gen hub and works with 300x25mm S2000 rotors.

- '14 - ... Tesla model S : 4piston Brembo 2 piece caliper with 40/44mm pistons.Oem rotor is 355mm x 32mm,total height 70mm.These calipers are almost the same ones as the Caddilac CTS-V calipers .Only difference is these are spaced further out for the different rotor .Center to center bolt spacing is the same as CTS-V and will be a straight fit.

- '17-'20 Honda Civic type R FK8 : 4 piston brembo monoblock calipers with 40/40mm pistons.
Oem rotor is 350mm x 32mm, total height is 55mm.These can be fitted but need some work .Ballade sports are offering a modified version of these to mount onto the s2000.

- '99- '04 Porsche boxster 3.2 Type S : 4 piston brembo Monoblock Caliper with 36/40mm pistons.Oem rotor is 318mm x 28mm,total height 67.2mm. Radial mounted

- '06 - '12 Renault Megane/clio RS : 4piston brembo monoblock calipers with 40/40mm pistons.
Oem rotor is 312mm x28mm,total height 63mm.These are used on several 10th gens in europe with a adaptor from Freakyparts uk or K-System.pro These calipers have very good wheel clearance and will fit most wheels.Mostly due to the fact these are radial mounted.

#note : Radial mounted calipers will almost always give a better wheel clearance due to the fact they are mounted more towards the back .

A lot of brake information what i have found ,i found on these websites:
- Centric parts Centric
- Brembo parts Brembo (where you can even search for rotor size)
- Racingbrake racingbrake (where you can find a lot of big caliper piston sizes and on which model they are used)

- Race technologies Racetechnologies A great brake pad comparison between the most used brake pads. Brembo HP2000 come on most stock equiped 4piston brembo calipers .A great street/race alternative is the RT TS20 (race technologies) and Pagid 4-2 (Blue).

what rotor do you use with TL-S brembo calipers on 2018 civic ex hatchback fk7?

Ordered TL-S calipers / rotors / pads. Also ordered Time-Cert inserts to reduce caliper bolt threads from m14x1.25 to M12x1.25

Do indeed to upgrade rear caliper brackets and rotors to Si in order to rebalance the brake bias?

I'll take pics when I do the install. I have 18" LE28N Volks and it looks like there will be plenty of clearance for the calipers without any spacers.

You certainly don’t NEED to but it’s a nice upgrade. I have my Si rears ready to go, just need to find the time

So I think the calipers I bought are knockoffs. Ordered reman from rock auto (cardone) and one looks brand new with no brembo on the casting.

What is required to use FK8 type r calipers on 10th gen fk7 hatchback? Only a custom rotor?

Just a quick question, do Si rotors and calipers fit regular civics, specifically LX 2.0? For a small OEM+ upgrade over stock

I’ve done Si front and rear brakes on my hatch and they were mostly bolt on. Had to modify the front Dust shield to fit the larger Si caliper.

On the rear, it was easier for me to replace the dustshield with the Si dust shield, but I reused the caliper. The rear calipers are essentially the same, the Si just has a different bracket that moves the caliper further out.

I believe the non Si rotor that is 260mm diamter is 39mm tall where as the the Si rotor that is 282mm diameter is 37mm tall. Did you notice that the caliper was not centered on the rotor at all? I'm wanting to put CTR FK8 calipers on my FK7 and am having a hard time trying to find a rotor with the correct diameter / bolt patter / height

I used the Si rear caliper brackets with the Si rotors. To be honest, I didn’t measure how centered the rotor was within the bracket. I just knew there wasn’t interference, the sliding caliper would’ve made up the difference regardless.

I believe the Si caliper bracket takes care of locating the pads and caliper further outwards from the center, and also centers the rotor properly between the pads. I also used my stock sport hatch pads with the Si rotors btw.

I just noticed you already had the CTR rear caliper brackets. Then that should take care of the pad spacing to the rotor. The easiest solution I think would be to redrill OEM rear CTR rotors. As long as the hub bores are compatible.
