Hi Guys,

I am planning to bleed the brakes and flush all the old fluid this weekend. I just want you feedback if this bleeder is any good?

Thats if you want to use vacuum, and yes it works. Open bleeder and start pumping, it will suck new fluid through. Small resivour, but youjust have to dump it often.

I have two or three of this style.. you really need two people though.

Personally I hate those vacuum brake bleeders. They just don’t seem to work for me especially the rear brakes. I feel pumping method works best only if you crack open the bleed valve and close the valve before releasing the brake pedal so that air wont leak past the threads of the bleed screw

if you have an air compressor, this works well. i have both a vaccum and pressure bleeder and like the vacuum more. used it on many cars with good results .

when ever i need to do it , i just time it to a tire rotation. jack up and stand all four corners . bleed and rotate

I don't have air compressor. I feel I might go with vacuum bleeder from Mityvac.

One more question. Can I use Mityvac vacuum brake bleeder for bleeding clutch as well? I know xgen civic shares the same reservoir for brakes and clutch. I don't want the left over fluid in the clutch line to mix up again and contaminate the new brake fluid.

If I can use it may I know the correct procedure for it? I guess removing the bleed valve of the clutch from under the car is easier than taking off the air filter housing etc.

I already have a Motive power bleeder from previous vehicles and had to do a little modification to make it work with the cta 7030 cap for Hondas. But it works like a charm and it bled my brakes on my Si very nicely. Actually got rid of some air bubbles from the factory and stiffened up my pedal a little bit. Plus it fits my Odyssey too.

Cool I will check it. I have no experience with pressure bleeder at all. I generally followed traditional system of one person pumping the pedal and cracking open the bleed screws. I need to check how the system works

If you have bottle with a small amount of fluid in it and the hose below the fluid level then doing this is a one man operation too.
The key thing is to keep air from getting back into the system so all you need is a decent sized bottle big enough to hold the old fluid, a length of hose and just pour some fluid into the bottle first so that when you start pushing the pedal, the air can't get back up the end of the hose. same applies to bleeding the clutch.

The only time you'll actually need help from a second person is when you've previously drained the fluid entirely or got a large amount of air in the system after replacing parts etc. If you're just replacing the fluid then one a single person is required.

That’s what the check valve is for. Air/fluid can only move one way. So air can never go back, and if you don’t want any air to leak past the threads apply a little bit of grease around the threads thus making an air tight seal. Trust me when I say this the vacuum sucks. Here’s a video of how it works.

I am thinking of ordering speedi bleed kit as it's cheaper than the motiv bleeder with Honda adapter. The combined cost is exceeding $80 for that and speedi bleed kit is $65
