Bought a 2020 boost blue Type R today, upgraded from a 2018 hatch sport, what tire size do those driving it in the winter have? Remained stock or downsized?

Thanks!!
Size wise..
245/40/18
Or
225/45/18

Narrow is better for snow tires.

Brand wise.. do not get Michelin xice3... it is stupid tires.. at least not for canada winter.

I have 3 new sets...
Michelin xice3 for my type r , bmw x3 3.0 .
I am extremely disappointed with its performance on snow.
We have a couple snow storm.. my type r and my wife x3 3.0i are struggling to grip at red light.
I then bought michelin PA4 for my X4 m4.0i.. it is same shit on real winter.
My sister in law got her x3 m40i.. i got her bridgestone dmv2, it performs way better than three of my stupud michelin.
I also drove my colleague sport hatch that has bridgestone ws90.. it grips much better than my xice3 ...

I do like michelin ps4s summer tires on my type r though.. it just their winter tires sucks big time for canada. For snow tires, get bridgestone.
Just my 2 cents..

My exact setup is 18" Envy EV-5 on 225/45/18. I added a 3mm spacer (not expensive at all maybe 15$ CAD) just to clear the front caliper a little better, although it will clear without, it's pretty close.

I recommend using this websites tire comparison tool: https://tiresize.com/calculator/

I have the viking contact 7 for winter tires and they're really grippy on 245/45/18 or it's 235 can't remember lol

I think next I'll go with WINTER SOTTOZERO 3 for performance winter tires

Any pics of the BB yet if you don't mind me asking.
Here’s the car at auto port Halifax, for those wondering, got my delivery date, 17-23 of April is the time frame when the vehicle should be at the dealership! And I’ll for sure be looking at all those winter tire recommendations thanks guys!
