I bought this Boost Blue 2020 in July 2022 as my 37th birthday present. I have an EM2 Si as a daily car so this is purely for fun.
2 years old, ex-lease car with 29000km.
Full service history. Extremely clean apart from some slight scuff marks on the edge of the spoiler. No stone chips or other damage anywhere.
Clear coat needs a slight correction - nothing I canāt handle.
I spent close to 2 years searching for the right performance car, I looked at everything from M2 competitions to Camaro 1LEs.
Nothing else felt as special as the type R.
I walked into the dealership on a Saturday morning, checked over the car, test drove it, did the deal and took it home that afternoon!
The car came with window deflectors, black lug nuts and aftermarket tail lights (which Iām still unsure aboutā¦.) other than that, fully stock.
I learned the car for a month on a few local mountain passes then decided how I wanted to proceed.
Firstly I installed:
Acuity Stage 3 with the shifter linkage upgrade, 1924 collar and an Esco shift knob.
Ordered:
Spoon progressive lowering springs
Spoon zero bump steer kit
Spoon rigid collars front and rear
Spoon stiff plate
Once they are installed, Iām thinking a Spoon carbon bucket seat and some brake upgrades.
For the moment I will be sticking with the stock power, stock exterior, exhaust and wheel/tyre setup. I still believe this car has a lot to offer chassis wise before anything power wise needs to be addressed.
If all goes to plan, I will drive from Vancouver to Laguna Seca next July to lap the track. Hitting up as many track days/events as possible along the way.
