Sure, but this guy never actually posted the Ktuner for sale - he simply messaged forum members directly. In fact, he never posted at all. You can see he has zero posts in the message threads above.

Maybe new forum members shouldn't be allowed to use the PM system until they've made a certain number of posts? Wouldn't eliminate the issue, but it might dissuade the lazier thieves from attempting this type of scam.
That would be a good idea for sure. It might indirectly hurt long time lurker like me though. I have been lurking in the forum since August last year when I was doing research before getting the car. A seller rating system like @TypeSiR mentioned would definitely help members out.

? It’s actually @gtman who mentioned a seller rating system as a good thing to have in another thread. Credit goes to him.

I'm almost to the point where I'd rather just purchase brand new to avoid the hassle. My unscientific observation sees used v1.2s going for $375 on average. For that price I'd rather pay the extra $74 and have peace of mind.

When it comes to an Internet forum, it's gotta be based on "reputation" or "trust" (i use either one of these words loosely.) If I'm selling something to you or buying something to you and look at your post counts as well as your time on here, they gotta be at a decent counts or days. Next will be the method of payment you prefer. It goes without saying that PayPal must be used since we are dealing with strangers, especially on a big ticket item. If you could spend more than a couple hundreds of dollars, I'm sure you can afford to pay the fees to PayPal for protection.
Looks like a wave of scammers might hitting the forum so the admin/mod @360glitch should have enforced some security for its members. On top of that, y'all stay alert! If it's too good to be true, it's not real.
