What is the best turbo upgrade for the money, taking into consideration core charge refunds and performance. Prl, rampage, mhi, other brand... which one. I want to save money but get a great turbo also. Thanks.

All of those you listed are good options depending on what your goals are. You also have the G25-550/660 kits from both Full Race and Rampage Fab. I believe Pure Turbo has an upgrade, but I haven't heard anything good about it. 27Won is also about to drop an affordable option for an upgrade located here: https://www.civicx.com/forum/threads/mitsubishi-drop-in-turbo-upgrade-for-ctr.59251/page-20

You'll have to provide more details of what you are after.

Do you want to maintain a wide powerband with lots of torque all the way through, like OEM+, or do you want high HP living from 4K to redline, with an absolutely gutless low end? There's a lot of options out there, yes, but you can narrow them down based on your desires, goals, and even budget.

Pure550 is the cheapest upgrade at $1595 and is equal to the p600 & rs550

Definitely not the best. It’s a more expensive rs-450
This is what I'm talking about. Turbos that are almost the same but one cost much lower. I don't want to buy the prl p600 over the rs-550, if I can get the save results cheaper but then again I have to give up a core exchange, so I'm not sure it's worth it

As of right now, the MHI turbo is actually $150 cheaper than the RS-450 (if you don't include core charge), and cannot make the same HP as the MHI... MHI caps out at 560HP vs the RS-450's advertised 470hp. Why would you even go with the more expensive turbo (again, before the core charge deal) to have less potential? PRL's turbo is along the same lines as MHI on paper ($2650 and 600hp peak), as well. Aside from them I don't know of any other companies that make turbos, so for all I know there's much better for cheaper. I'm simply doing some quick Googling.

@rwk226 that 470 is based on pump gas for the Gen2 RS450. Gen1 definitely did less.. Two w pump gas I've seen have been 460-470 range with upgraded fsu @Solis#1730 was one of them. There's been a few on flex making close to 500. I should b on dyno in next few weeks, got street tuned and tuner believe I'll be close to 500whp w my setup..fbos, maf, hondata fsu on e30. Don't think I've seen a mhi yet close to that 560. More like right around 500 on flex. From what I've read and been told rs450 and mhi are similar in numbers.

Good to know! Real world numbers do mean more than paper info for sure. Thanks for sharing, can't wait to hear what you're making with your setup.
