My 2017 SI is the first turbo car I have owned. But I remember on all my previous Honda's (B18, H22, K20), adding a new air intake made the engine sound much much better/deeper and was a really pleasing addition.

So on this new 1.5T, does the intake have a similar effect?
It did not help Honda made the engine almost mute from the factory. So my expectations are a bit lower. However I am trying to make the driving experience a little more thrilling. Any recommendations? It would be nice if it actually added some performance as well.

get the 27won. sounds really good and depending on if its a concern for you, no chance of hydrolock based off of the design (it was a concern for me). definitely noticed a bump in response

How does the design prevent hydrolock? I really like the look of the 27won intake but I don't see how it prevents hydrolock if it still pulls air from the fender well.

Its in a box and not in the fender.

The 27Won Intake has two smaller openings in the front right corner of the box (The W of 27W is cut out and there is a slot in front of the box).

Even if the bottom of the intake is submerged, its easier to suck in air from up top than water from below.

Oh that makes sense. One day I'll buy one, but I think my $400 can be used better elsewhere at the moment.

EDIT: Does anyone know how the 27won intake does with fuel trims? If it does alright without a tune then I'd probably buy that before a ktuner.

In reality, if you’re in danger of hydrolock due to water levels, you’re probably screwed anyway

Not in danger of hydrolock around here. Sounds like PRL and 27Won are worth investigating. They seem to be the leaders.

They have a chart showing that at stock the fuel trims were in line with OEM. I had been monitoring mine for a few weeks after I installed mine and they looked totally fine. I am stock/untuned.
