Best sounding intake will be the open air intake like the Injen or AEM because there's nothing to muffle the sound. But they will soak heat because there's nothing to block the hot air. Any close box design intake would sound almost the same. Best bang for the buck close boxed intake would be PRL HVI, Injen Evo, AFE Takeda, Mishimoto since they're all in the sub 400 price range. If you're more boujee, you can go with HKS or Eventuri which are the two higher end options. I had both the PRL HVI and AFE Takeda and I prefer PRL HVI because it has slightly better sound.
The sound of the HVI is intoxicating. I always find myself hitting the throttle to build boost and then let off when it's around 3/4 spooled. If you let off under full boost it's not as loud as letting off mid spool lol.
Whenever I get stuck behind some slow non-driving fuck, I'll just be hanging back making a bunch of noise with the turbo like c'mon man. If they have their window down all they'll hear is pssshhhtt lol
I really have been liking my Eventuri. This is an old engine bay pic.
Especially with my custom hood that has a vent on it, you can really "hear the intake" but that's not what I aim for. I'm just helping the engine out as much as I can to help reduce heat soak.
