I Just got a type R, but I have not idea which exahust sounds good. I used to have civic si 2018 with maperformance exahust and I personally loved it. No that crazy sound but with good pops and no drone at all. The thing is that I can find a exahust like that one especially for a DD.

What about either AWE's touring exhaust or Ark Performance's exhaust?

I feel like the AWE exhaust is very aggressive sounding and fits the character of the CTR perfectly, especially considering the looks.

A lot of the videos depicting 27Won's (especially with a catless DP) sound magical though.

Blitz Nur Spec VSR - Nice deep sound, minimal drone, adds some pop. Has triple exhaust to fit with CTR style, burnt tip rolled tip option. If you want to go crazy can be even carbon fibre with red the same shade as the interior lining. Very happy with the purchase.

Watched the video, looks like an amazing product. Do you have other options available for the tips other than chrome?
We do not at this time. Just the polished stainless atm.

I've been looking at various exhausts and the 27won does seem promising with the Tuned side branch resonators to reduce drone, but doesn't that then start blowing heat back into the body of the car?

I'm not a serious track racer(for now anyway) so I'm only going off of assumptions but overtime wouldn't that cause a problem?
