Hey CivicX,

First post on the forum!

Anyways, 2 months ago I bought a 2019 Honda Civic EX Hatchback. Such a slick ride. A few days after I had just gotten the car I rear ended someone. He decided to slam on the brakes as soon as the light turned yellow. Yea I know it's my fault and I wish I reacted sooner. He was cool and didnt report anything and let it go. Mainly because there was no damage to his car.

So, a few days later I bought a replacement grille. I took the bumper apart and saw the damage on the bumper and the bumper bar. Instantly I thought to myself, there goes a bunch of value out of the car.

Now to my main questions.
Is this bumper bar worth replacing? Is this bar bent just a little from the factory?

The grille snapped on the remaining clips and screws so I'll deal with that in the future.

Thanks for reading.

Looks to be impact damage, I’m no expert but I would imagine damage to that bar would reduce its effectiveness in the event of a future accident

Had something similar happen on my 2016 except it was in the rear. I had someone bend the bar back. tbh, if you can, i'd probably try to bend the bar back or just get a replacement from a junkyard. If you bend it back, i'd also assume it'll reduce it's effectiveness in the future.

Definitely. It’s structurally compromised.
Yea I was expecting that. Well I'll definitely look into replacing asap. Thanks for the responses.
