Hi Civic owners,

I have a 17' Civic Hatchback without a sub and am looking to install a pair 12" subs that were handed down to me along with a couple amps. Any suggestions for how to set up the wiring? I am inexperienced with aftermarket car audio, any tips or suggestions are welcome

Cheers

What's your factory installed audio system? That will determine a lot what you can do.

Generally, you will need to:
1. Convert a line level (in other word, speaker wires) to RCA (or else).
2. You will need a crossover (low pass filter, LPF) - many amps have this built in.
3. Run the power wire from the battery + fuse (properly fused for the wattage).
4. Tap into remote turn on, whether through ignition, a fuse location, or from the radio head unit.
5. You will be ripping a lot of trim pieces off.
6. You will be fishing wires through metal holes, etc. - tape them up properly with electrical wire as well.
7. Be patient
