Base radio questions

My Civic Sport Hatch, with the base radio, does not read my text messages, does not even give me the option to configure that feature. Yet, my wife's two-year-old CRV, with what is the same radio, does read text messages when I link my phone up with her car. The owner's manual for the Civic says it should be able to do so??? Any thoughts? Am I missing something? Also, is there a way to clear a single number from the voice dial function without having to clear them all? Owners manual is beyond vague on that. Love my Hondas, but these radios are somewhat less than intuitive.

If the radio is the same in my LX it can't read text messages or at least I never found out how to before I replaced it. The manual is probably referring to the upper model radios with Carplay/AA.

Canadian LX models come with AA/Carplay standard the US ones don't unless it's EX and above.
