So it's been a very long time since my last post, due to covid lockdown here in Melbourne. Some work is finally planned for the car in a few weeks, along with a well overdue track day.

In the meantime I installed my Raceseng tow hook. Nice and easy install, looks great

So I finally got to have some more goodies installed and a track day!

Latest additions:
  1. HKS Hipermax IV SP Coilvers
  2. HKS Oil Cooler
  3. HKS Intercooler piping kit
  4. HKS SSQV BOV
  5. Rampagefab Titanium charge pipe
  6. TrackSpecMotorsports bonnet vents
  7. Retune
Loving the way the car now sits and drives. A lot to get used to with coils but it's now headed in the direction I've been planning for over a year

Next... back to the track!!

Track Day #2

So this was my second ever track day I've done, also the second outing with the car as well.

Managed to shave 5 seconds off my previous PB at the same track, with very similar conditions (30+ degrees celsius!).

My Tyres (PS4S) are nearing their end so I wasn't wanting to push it 10/10ths, given the track and ambient temps wouldn't allow a better indication of where the car is at.

The PS4S will be replaced with AD08Rs once they are done, these will serve as my daily until I invest in a track specific set of 18s with some R compound.

As for the track sessions and lap, car feels just so much more planted and steady throughout, it inspires confidence.. of which I'm learning in spades.

Having this view to watch back really made me take note for next time as far as the cars position and my own (some terrible hand position on the wheel at times!).

WET Track day!

In what was supposed to be an awesome sunny day to try out the new Advan AD08Rs, turned out to be completely soaked!

In hindsight this turned out to be a fantastic day behind the wheel to further develop my driving skills and get familiar with driving at speed, in the rain.

Another positive about this meant that I could do 6-7 laps at a time without requiring a cool down, ambient temps were low enough to not trigger any issues on that front.

This lap here is one of the final sessions without rain were I managed a decent time in the conditions.

After chewing through my previous set of street tyres due to camber setups I have decided to get a dedicated set of track wheels and tyres (RAYS 57XTreme Spec-D 18 x 9.5 & Yokohama A050), keen to see the difference in grip and feel next time out!

I am running the Acuity reverse flow hoses, I didn't see it on your list - I highly recommend them with maybe a more open grill for air flow. Also, I am running distilled water with 1 bottle of water wetter for better cooling.

Yeah I wouldn't say my car suffers from heat issues. Australia doesn't seem to have the same crazy conditions a lot of the US folks see on track.

Vented hood and larger i/c, oil cooler etc do the job pretty well. My last track outing I was doing 4-5 hot laps in a row without suffering a significant rise in ECTs or other.

Cheers

So the latest update is we haven't been able to have any track days for months due to lockdown here in Melbourne, however the upgrades and preparation continues.

Recent work includes:
- A custom setup of the Radium twin catch can
- Mishimoto turbo blanket
- Js Racing grille
