I'm Angel, one of the owners of Art of Attack, a parts store and shop in Rancho Cucamonga, California (roughly 30 mins east of Los Angeles). We specialize in parts sales and installs of higher end parts for Japanese cars. *We'll link to a thread explaining more about our store/facility in the coming days but for now here's a link to our website art-of-attack.com and to our Instagram @artofattack and Jose's @type_r_jose for live updates.

If you know anything about us or Jose you know that this is going to be a pretty intense Time Attack build. We both love to build high quality, max out class rules and of course WIN haha so best believe we will be building a fast AND good looking car.

We started on the car around 2-3 months ago but took a COVID pause so we're just getting back to it. Business has been crazy lately so I've only got a few mins to kick off the thread but we'll get it updated over the next few days. For now here's a link to our old thread and a picture of the car as it sits currently...

*UPDATE: Here's a link to our Art of Attack Intro if you want to know more about us.

Hello guys!

My name is Jose Miguel and along with Art of Attack we are building an FK8 Time Attack project. We are very excited about this build, and the lap times the car will put down once it’s ready.

Feel free to leave any comments or questions about the build and we will be more than happy to help with what we are learning.

Alright here we go! Here's a photo of the car when Jose first picked it up. It came strait to Art of Attack so we could take some shots to announce the build on Instagram.

The start of this build just happened to line up perfectly with some Varis and Spoon Sports goodies coming in, that we had ordered months before for stock. Varis hood and Spoon bumper were ready to go!

The quality of both of these pieces is amazing. I hear a lot of people complain on FB forums about overpriced Japanese parts. Those people must not haven't experienced the fit and finish of the parts they're talking about because they are WELL worth the cost. Anyway, I don't want to get into a rant about why high end Japanese aero pieces are worth the cost so I'll jump right back into some shots!

You can see the fitment of the Varis hood is SPOT ON. A little aligning and viola, perfect!

Next up, J's Racing full titanium exhaust for a super light weight exhaust with a great note. Again, we were lucky to have this available because we had just pulled it off of one of our past demo FK8's.

We're suckers for that brilliant titanium burn...

While we were working on exhaust we decided to throw on a catless PRL downpipe also.

Next up, cooling. It's well documented that CTR's experience overheating issues after a few laps on track and being in Southern California where summer track temps can get over 100 degrees, we don't take these upgrades lightly.

Our first cooling mod is a Koyorad radiator. We ran their radiator on our red CTR last year and it dramatically improved peak coolant temps on track so we already know this is a proven solution.

We've also brought a big name in Japanese tuning on board for oil cooling, but we'll save those details for when we install the oil cooler.
