I do it for myself and the love of Japanese craftsmanship put into their parts. I can see how it can get played out in Cali, but at the end of the day I just love the wheels and don't really care if people like my wheels.
this. I built it for my own self and not for others.

Also, aftermarket is so limited on our cars, your bound to run into people with the same stuff as you.

Lol wth...never said I built my car to please others. Surely you can like more than one type of wheel. I Just like different stuff that the majority isn’t doing or buying, that’s it. Thats my personal preference, always been that way since a teenager.
Surely having variety in the car scene makes things more fun and interesting.
Don’t even know how this thread turned into people feeling sensitive to the point they are defending what they like.
Lol pandemic got people on edge

that wasn't really direct at you but ok. Was just responding saying i build it for myself in response to Chris saying he doesn't care if people like his wheels or not.

looks like your the one who is sensitive.

IMO, the reason to get TEs in general is because you WANT them. They're a timeless wheel that's reknown and appreciated by many. The price is just a part of playing the game. I initially was dead set on Advan GTs but no one having them in stock in the machined finished and me being impatient I picked up a set of SLs instead, haven't looked back since. At the end of the day, beauty is in the eyes of the beholder. If you're looking for a lightweight wheel thats cheaper how about the Wedsport tc105x? Or for a few hundred less than the TEs maybe even Advan TC4?

I was literally about to pull the trigger on a set but couldn't justify it for a Civic SI. Makes a little bit more sense on a CTR, but idk, I'd rather spend the money elsewhere.

I went with Enkei T6S's instead and saved $2k.

Any way I could get a profile (side) pic of your car?
I have an MSM Si Coupe, and want 6 spoke wheels (like those Enkei T6S's), but never considered black (thought it would make the car look "bottom heavy").

Just got my TE37SL’s in blast bronze recently.

This is my very first set of aftermarket wheels, and just like you I was actually thinking of getting gram lights 57dr instead so I can save money.

But being that bronze TE37’s were my dream wheels I decided to get the TE’s over gram lights lol

Definitely worth the investment

Here are some pix of TE37SL 18x9.5 +45 Pressed double black.

As someone mentioned, center caps require adapters. For street use only...

Will need Kicks Koyo el hub centric rings for track duty...center caps not allowed there.

These pics are stock height. Will be lowering soon on coilovers.

Great wheel. Really like them.

That said, Titan 7’s are probably the physically stronger wheel for track duty.

Forgot to post my 19's. This is a really old pic. I have the center caps on there now, but if you want to spend a little more you can get some 19" ultra track edition II's.

I just picked up my 2020 CTR. I wanna get the TE37SL Diamond Black. They are the most expensive wheels I’ve ever looked at and wanna know if it’s worth the money. I’ve never owned and expensive set of wheels like that. I was also looking at the titan 7 and the rays gram lights 57DR.

If anybody is running the TE37SL please let me know if they are worth the investment. Thanks!
Right now the 57DRs are on backorder until late October, not sure about TE37SL and buying used isn't a horrible idea with sturdy wheels like TE37s.

Titan 7 has a 6 spoke wheel now, but with everything else it'll probably be hard to grab a set. 57DRs are too heavy imo. TE37s are gorgeous no doubt with tons of color options, but I'd still probably go with the titans

The Titan-7 T-D6 to me seem like a forged version of the 57DR, other than the side machining on the spokes.
