Is there a way to install Apple CarPlay to the Civic 2017 and after LX models myself?

Yeah buy a new head unit that has Apple car play.
I am going to guess the OP is more interested in a hack-type method to side load CarPlay on the existing head unit.

Snyder: Sorry, I have no idea how to hack the head unit but I've seen related posts about it so poke around a bit here and see if anything puts you on the right path.

Only way to do it is change the headunit. The existing headunit on LX trims is too small and doesn't have the capability to run carplay at all. You could buy the headunit that comes on EX and above trims or just buy one of those android aftermarket ones.

Oh, I thought there would be a way to do it without replacing the whole headunit. Thanks, everyone!
