Anyone ran 245/35 or 255/35 tires instead of the 30 series instead yet?

Ok I do like the stock wheels and probably plan to keep them but not a fan of the thin tires. Was just wondering if anyone tried 245/35 or 255/35 tires on the stock wheels yet? It will give about 1 inch more of rubber protection and comfort compare to the stock ones and with stock height I’m pretty sure there won’t be any rubbing issues and maybe even with a slight 1 inch drop in the future it should be fine. I do understand it will be bigger and the speedometer will be off a lil with bigger diameter wheels.

245/35/20 is 3.9% larger in diameter.
255/35/20 is 4.7% larger in diameter.

Personally I wouldn't do it especially with all the electronics on modern day cars.

I would downsize to 19 or 18 if you want the extra sidewall protection.

Yeah unfortunately I love the looks of the stock wheels but maybe might have to get some 19s I know the fk2 wheels are the same just in 19s I believe

The FK2 spokes are actually slightly thicker.

If I were to get some 19s, I’d go for the 2017 NSX Y spoke wheels. They’re 18.8lbs, 19x8.5 +55.

A wider and taller tire might be a bit harder to break loose in 3rd gear, so that is a benefit. Also, although the speedometer may not be accurate, you may actually find it's faster to 60 since you can easily do it in 2nd gear without having to bang the rev limiter.

I still don't understand the ongoing desire to alter probably the best FWD suspension design available by putting the incorrect offset wheels on this car, it is a crucial factor in its success.

There is a ready made, off the shelf solution out there already until someone comes up with a viable alternative and @chi town brat has already set the Type R world on fire with it by proving that these work and work well. Don't be surprised if they are in short supply soon because all of the cool kids have ordered them already.

With these 19's you also can retain the original overall diameter or you can go nuts with a range of width and diameter tire options. 285's have already been fitted with no rubbing if you want to go all out. For those that just want the added insurance of a taller side wall then you are covered. All while being able to retain the proper handling. Win.

Those are the NSX wheel I am talking about. It is probably cheaper without those TPMS sensors. Partnumber is 44700-T6N-A01.

what about 255/30/20?
Ima do 265/30 or 275/30 tires next. People will say don’t do it but I seen plenty of people run that wide setup on 8.5 before and never had issues. I don’t track my car so I’m not too worry about it.

Was about to order 245/35s, but unsure about them still. Don't want any issues besides the obvious speedo % error. They are actually cheaper at that size by about 50$/tire so that helps as well...

Anyone with experience on this size with the stock wheels and stock height?
