I don’t see many of you leasing, but it’s what I’m going to do to get a 2019 Civic Sedan Touring, want to pull the trigger this week.

Anything I should know? Is $295 a month for 36K miles 36 months with $2,500 down a good deal compared to what you got?

Thanks!

Go to Edmunds.com forum and you can get the money factor, residual and any incentives. Then go to leasehackr.com and use the calculator.
You should put little to no money down on a lease. I was $3 off my payment on my type r. It's pretty accurate.

I believe right now for the Touring sedan with a 36 month, 36K mile lease, the money factor is .00108 with a residual of 56%. There is also a $600 lease cash manufacturer to dealer incentive on top of whatever discount you can negotiate.

And, as previously mentioned, you should put down as little money as possible on a lease. I only pay the first payment and BMV fees at signing.

I put $742 down on my 3/36 lease for my ‘19 Si. Payment is $242/mo.

Based on that comparison I’d say you’re getting hosed.
Thank you. I can’t decipher these lease calculators and really want to hear what others are paying.

Djays deal looks good. The $742 down covers 1st payment, doc fees. You don't want to do more than that.
There are some variables that don't apply to everyone. It's good to know some details so you can tell if you're getting hosed.

I used this to lease my 2019 Type R. I negotiated over the phone and was in and out the dealer in about an hour.

500 down, i put a deposit in that amount so just told them to use that as down payment. For 42 months lease I'm paying $375 CAD tax included which is about $276 USD a month for the sedan sport.

Well, I did everything to the letter, got the Edmunds factors, plugged them into Leasehackr, and it says that I should be paying $315.

So I don't think $295 is a hosing. Or is it?

$50 more per month would translate to $1800 more total than I’ll pay. Considering most cars have a 8% invoice markup - or about $2k on a $24k car - you basically paid full price.

Not hosed (maybe I was being harsh) but the salesman made a nice commission on that deal.

I sold cars for a few years and I have a a detailed understanding of how it all works. At the end of the day, if you’re happy with the deal and the car, then you nailed :)

Last June on a '18 Si sedan, the lease deal we made was for $280 per month with only 1st month payment down. But then applied a $500 military discount to make the first payment, while also lowering the monthly payment to $274 and some change per month.

The lease on my '17 EX-T is $245 per month with only first payment due at signing.

Echoing that you should put zero to as little as possible down on a lease - unless the APR is extraordinarily high, but at that point I would reconsider leasing altogether.

I bought mine recently: 5 year (60mo), 2.9 APR, 20k km/year, 0 down, 39% residual. Asked the dealer to throw in $1500 worth of accessories. Got my LX for CAD$315/mo tax in (about USD$235)
