So I just bought a used 2019 Si Sedan from the dealership and noticed this weird little device that blinks green underneath the dash. Has anyone ever seen this or know what it is? I asked one of the salesman who I bought the car from if he knows what it is and he said he doesn't and that I should call Honda and ask.

Possibly some sort of tracking device that certain used car dealers install is my guess.

security installed from the dealership when bought new? I have the same on my Civic, extra cost to help to recover your car if it gets stolen... I might be wrong though, it just what I have there on both of my Hondas

OP, do you see any branding on it or anything? Maybe it's some aftermarket alarm the original owner installed and the dealer wasn't aware of it. But that's just another guess.

One thing's for sure. That's not a normal Si interior part.

I have to check but I don't recall seeing any branding. It does have a little button underneath it, it looks like this (see picture)

Dealer installed kill switch, by Karr alarm. Has to be activated at the dealer.
The front plate is a cover and there is a sort of multi-pin key the dealer has. I did not activate mine.

Its a dealer installed alarm that can be purchased at the time you bought the vehicle new. If you decline, they simply de activate it but leave all the wiring intact (can't be reactivate once you decline). They use this as an up-selling tactic.

Kind of annoying but, meh– what can you do. I ripped all that crap out.

Thanks man, that sounds about right from everything I've read online. I asked the dealership (where i purchased the car from) and he says he doesn't know. Is it possible that it was the previous owner that bought the car? He purchased it directly from Honda.

I wouldn't buy a new car with anything like this installed.
it has a plug you can unplug and done :) My 16 civic has it and I opted out on my 20 Odyssey, but still installed... I just unplugged it under the steering wheel

I get a green blinking light as well, but I thought that was my Ktuner plugged in.

Maybe some or all boxes can be unplugged, but some wiring had to be added/replaced to install that harness you plug it in.
But I doubt you can unplug it in most cases, because if you refuse to pay for it, they still won't remove it.

oh yeah, it is connected, but what I was trying to say is that if you didn't pay for this, you can unplug it and remove it so it won't be shown there under the steering wheel
