Anyone know the largest or most CCA battery our civics can take?

This stock battery (Group 51) is tiny and seems weak.

I know sooner or later the heat here in Texas will kill it dead.

I am trying to figure out a direction for it's eventual replacement....

Update: my battery wasn't the issue. Alternator is done... fun times.

Kill list so far on this car

Stock plugs
Engine, the whole engine. Snapped a rod.
Catalytic converter

Ouch. Is it covered by warranty? Still a hassle to drop the car off that’s for sure. Good luck.

For replacement battery, I’d get a Bosch AGM or Optima Yellow Top, size 51R as minimum.

Dude killed his warranty after he decided he was going for big power with rod snapping torque.

This engine is capable of crazy numbers for how small it is, but it was built on a budget to be affordable, not with race car parts.

I went with a red top optima. As for warranty, we'll see. There going to try and blame the mods, I'll be arguing how that has anything to do with the alternator :dunno:

I didn't even try when the motor went, ik that was me.

I read somewhere on this forum you can buy the Canadian parts to go their battery size instead of Group 51. I don't remember which parts you had to buy.

I'd imagine at least the tie down and the two rods.
