Anyone know of or have any recommendations for a beginner friendly track in Arizona? I want to start taking my car to the track, but I've never been before.
Looking for some suggestions on how to find a Track, any requirements, etc. Thanks guys.
There are a few tracks in AZ, but it's too expensive to go on your own. You want to get in on one of the groups that run regular events. The two that have been recommended to me are NASA https://www.nasaproracing.com/ and Pro Auto Sports https://proautosports.com/
They both race most of the tracks in AZ at different times, check their events listing to find most of the AZ tracks. And they are both beginner friendly (and have a program you have to go through to get on the track and move up in competition level). They also both do "road course" types of races, which I think is more in line with what a Type R is designed for. I don't know any autocross groups, but I'm sure they are out there.
The Arizona Type R Owners group on Facebook https://www.facebook.com/groups/307814156289450 are talking about going as a group to the NASA event in October. Probably when I will be going as well. I've been to Wild Horse Pass (Firebird Raceway for those of us old enough) many times to watch friends race there, but this would be the first time for me to race myself.
