Not my Civic. Goodness, no. Someone I know just bought a bomb and most of the front of the hood is what's left after a respectable older painted part goes through a curtain of gravel. Twice. The car is a fairly common white, and the owner just wants it to look better than it currently is, so I may get to paint an entire hood for the first time. Small car. Smaller than the Civic. Any guidance?

I am looking to spend less than $75 if possible, mostly match the rest of the car, and I have the following:

Solvent
Duplicolor Top-coat spray
Various brushes, applicators
A tiny patch sander (one of those li-ion multi tool ones)
Ventilator mask

Is good-enough paint and some plastic sheeting to make a spray tent all I would need?

A spray gun and air compressor are must.

Check harbor freight.
