Anyone else suffer from really bad allergies...

I've had allergies to pollen for as long as I know, every year I basically die for 2-3 weeks with terrible insomnia, breathing through one nose, sore throats, red eyes.

I take a Claritin 24hr every morning and it makes no difference, also I do saline solutions to help rinse out and it helps for a little bit but not too long.

I've heard about some other solutions like propofol or trying to source local honey and eating some of that everyday, anyone have experience with those or have any other solutions they find affective?

I have it. Best thing you can do is drink lots of water, Getting local honey, change your diet...get rid of dairy products during allergy season, and endure.....

Does dairy affect allergies? I had no idea. I'm a big dairy guy I love my cheese hahah

With the local honey, it has to be in a certain mile radius right? I've been trying to find local honey on google but there's only 3 in my county (it's a big county) and I think the closest one is maybe 15-20 miles away

Buddy, its feels like a lifetime for me, rather than 2-3 weeks. I feel your pain. I’ve been waking up with eyes paste together. I can live with the runny nose, but the eyes kill me. I use Visine Allergy triple action and take the Claritin or Flonase daily. I find after 2 days of continuous use it helps.

I also know there is an injection for people who suffer chronic allergies, but I’m not up for that. With the eye drops, nasal spray and popping a pill daily, I’m surviving. 2 shower daily also helps as it washes off the pollen.

I usually take something like cetirizine and also a nasal spray. The only problem with the nasal is you should start taking it a week or two before allergy season, which I always forget.

Yeah man it's so tough I hate it :/ Like you I'm also not up for that, I can suffer a few weeks but man if it was months on end or year round I might've considered it. Going to shower more often thanks for that, hopefully that gets rid of the pollen.

The nasal spray helps a lot but at the same time it makes my nose constantly runny so I end up blowing my nose the whole time and it gets irritated ugh

Pills will generally keep me from being a sneezing snotty mess, but my eyes still itch all day, so I started using (generic) flonase which helps with that. I haven't had any noticeable side effects from it. I tend to try out whatever the newest OTC is each year since zyrtec started losing effectiveness.

The local honey thing has been debunked.

I have pretty had allergies also. I've learned that if you take Benadryl often enough it doesnt really make you drowsy anymore (or at least it's been my experience). I'll take that with excedrine for sinus headaches and it seems to knock them out really quickly.

I also do a neti pot if i'm constantly suffering, which seems to work really well. I like to do it before bed just so no allergens are sitting in my sinuses all night which usually leads to feeling good the next morning.

Flonase daily also. Two shots each nostril in the morning, and again in the afternoon if things are especially rough.

I can relate. I have allergic rhinitis. My nostrils are clogged every morning and I always sneeze my brains off in the morning. I should really invest in a good quality air purifier.

Go to an Allergy Specialist. I finally did after suffering with terrible allergies for 20+years. I went this past February, had the full testing done, and decided to get a sublingual immunotherapy drop taken 3 times a day. The other option was a weekly allergy shot but I travel a lot for work. Allergies are 99% gone in just 2 months. Go to a specialist now. OTC allergy meds are only supplemental.

My allergies have been getting worse than normal recently. My nose even started bleeding because of them, and of all days it ended up being in the middle of prom pictures. I didn't get any in the suit tho
