Anyone have a gap like this? Is this normal?

Getting into my car this morning I noticed this gap that I've never noticed before. It's similar on both driver and passenger sides but it looks larger on the driver side.

It appears there's a gap between the black plastic and the fender right under the windshield.

Here's pics to show what I mean:

The cowl is generally quite loose on a lot of cars; the "tabs" are just moulded into the rubber, and they just kinda hold it in place, it's not flush or anything.

If it does bother you, on my old car I ran a thin strip of 3M double sided to hold it better.

No, the new one is worse than the old one. Gaps on both sides. They are putting the old one back on and ordering another one. Mine was the same as OP.

That's terrible. I think I rather keep it as is

Yeah, hope the old one isn't worse once they get it back on. They said it is an issue with how the rubber is fused to the cowl. Said it might take a couple of trys. At least the surging is gone, the clear coat is fixed, and the radio works, and the gap on the driver's door isn't as bad now.
