Hey Everyone,

Curious what people think about doing mods to the limited edition? I haven't seen any posts on this yet?

I am thinking of keeping it mostly stock because of it being limited and I don't plan to use it hard. I am interested in some parts that make the ride look and feel better. I was thinking of Mugen wheels to replace the sticky stock tires and preserve the limited wheels.

I do have mugen sill plates and mats coming in, also got a shift knob from S2000 CR to change up the feel from time to time.

What are your thoughts?
Thanks

I'm a real fan of keeping limited edition cars as stock as possible. Plan on keeping mine for 10+ years so really want to maintain it as close to the way it was when it rolled off the production line.

Only real mod I've done is a set of FK2 CTR 19x8.5" wheels with PS4S tyres that I kept from my previous MY18 FK8. Less rocks flicking up and better traction during winter. During summer and/or if I take the car to a display at a show I'll put the stock BBS wheels back on.

Otherwise just mats, clear infotainment screen protector and paint correction/ceramic coating.

That's what I was really thinking, only things to add that will only protect the car.

Would something like the mugen sill plates be a no no?

I almost want to buy a standard Type R to have fun with..

I respect that everyone is entitled to do what they want to their own car so for me there isn't anything that is a "no no".

Personally I wouldn't but that is because my goal is to stay as close to factory as possible.

Oh mine will be driven alright. Just going to keep it as stock as possible and make sure nearly every km I'm behind the wheel is able to put a smile on my face. Twisty roads, cruises, track ...

I just bought a spare alcantara wheel (and some spare OEM mats). Figure I'll be as careful as I can and clean mine regularly but if it gets some wear and tear what will be, will be. At least if/when I sell I'll have them to spruce up the interior if needed.

Great plan, I'm doing the same thing. That way I actually enjoy the car with the cool steering wheel I paid for.

Any plans to protect the fabric on the seats, especially the driver's? That's the only thing I haven't figured out a good solution for yet. I don't want to slap on some cheap ass cover and not enjoy it but also don't want to melt them to shit since replacing those won't be cheap down the road.

It's a tough one. I've just got normal fabric protection on the seats but of course that doesn't protect from wear and tear and I;m not a fan of seat protectors.

I had 20000km on my previous CTR and was very careful how I got in and out and it had no noticeable wear. Given my LE will see maybe 4000km a year and I'm even more careful I am just going to live with it. If a set of OEM seats came up second hand I might grab them.
