Sure there is a chance but I'd say not likely. I think that is why they gave us the Sport model. It's no Si but it's enough for a lot of people.

0 Chance I'd say because they'd have to find new supply lines to send everything to the swindon plant to built it.

6mt sport hatch + a hondata basically = a Si... in my opinion at least
I'd get more enjoyment out of all the Si suspension and brake upgrades plus its LSD.

Oh, and the extra tricks they programmed into the instrument cluster.

I'd trade up for an Si if it had:
1. hatch
2. no moonroof
3. black trim like my Sport (ok, maybe it's an easy mod).

Which is partly why the Type R is so appealing.

They won't because it would take market share away from the Type-R. Why buy a Type-R when you could possibly save 10-15k buying an Si hatch and use that money to buy the Type-R motor down the road.

I think it's possible down the road, because the Si is really becoming (or in fact essentially has become), "just another trim" of Civic, instead of being technically a different model but with "Civic" in the name. CTR is placed far enough from the Si so that they don't threaten one another in the market.
Seems like Honda is giving the CTR the old Si's spot, while the Si is turning into a "sportier manual trim". In fact, in addition to the Si hatch, I wouldn't be too surprised if in several years we also saw CTR coupe/sedan variants.

It usually comes down to demand. If the hatchback variants sell more than expected we might see one. I wonder how the hatch is selling?
