hey everyone,
so I have a 2018 civic ex 2.0 sedan with 8 speaker system and 7" premium headunit. i plan to keep the headunit, but i will upgrade the front and rear component speakers, as well as add a subwoofer in the trunk.
I have an Orion XTR 5004 4Ch. Amplifier that puts out continuous 80w RMS x 4ch. @ 4ohms.
I think I will be matching this amp to 2 pairs of Polk Audio DB 6502 component speakers, which run up to 100w RMS continuous @ 4ohms.
As for the subwoofer, it will be powered by an Alpine PDX M6 mono amp (continuous 600w x 1ch. @ 4ohms). The subwoofer is a 10" Alpine Type R SWR10D4, rated between 300-1000w RMS, recommended RMS range of 400-750w RMS continuous @ 4ohms.
Ive read that I will need a line in converter, such as the JL FIX86 or AudioControl LC7i, to take the separate speaker signals from the headunit and restore them as a flat freq. range to be fed into the amps from the line in converter? is this correct? Doesn't the JL FIX86 double as a DSP?

ALSO: Would I need to invest in a second battery if im running this system (~1000w system)? or can i just upgrade the battery? i was thinking xs power d5100r. or could i get away with just a stock honda battery??? one more thing: howmany amps does the sedan 2.slow alt put out? i dont ever plan to play the system with engine off, either.
any advice and tips on creating a good sql system with this hardware is muchly appreciated!
