and we don't get the "Lake Effect" - the mountains (really tall hills, 2-3000 ft) block the breeze, but Oh the snow!

Went to the supermarket and bought infant socks. Cheap and does the trick.

I avoid burnt knobs by staying away from nudist beaches.

I just had to 'cowboy up'. The blisters heal eventually. And I can easily remember my shift pattern.

Okay, seriously, I have even used a clean handkerchief at times. it gets a tad hot here in the Arizona desert. Cold not so much an issue.

Too warm here for gloves most of the year. I have some good leather gloves, but could really use actual driving gloves. That would for sure work.

Once I am in the car with the A/C running, the knob is bearable after a while.
Helps to have a better than average tolerance for holding hot objects. Must come with living here.

Sometimes it is so hot here, even parking in the shade, or putting up the sunshade doesn't help.

But I like the OEM shift knob, so not willing to change it for something else.

Most of the suggestions to cover the shift knob seem inherently flawed as they would result in a slippery, inaccurate grip.

Agree in regards to a slippery item on the shifter. Our tied leather piece works fine unless you try to "two-finger shift" like when it's hot or super-cold without

Don't move any further North - it was -4 (F not C) this morning!
I've promised myself I will never live in a place I have to plug my car in at night so the oil doesn't freeze.

I actually do keep the roo nut pouch in the central compartment just in case lol. I don't want to replace the knob otherwise, the heft and the feel is just too nice.

Never had to plug in any of our vehicles '68 RoadRunner - '12 Si. Don't ever remember car not starting due to cold weather (-20 F). The older ones sure cranked slow on 10W-30 & 30W!
That being said, the shift knob feels freezing below 45 F; usually have gloves on when it's below 32 F.

Even when the polar vortex hit a couple winters ago when it was like -50 out, the oil didn't freeze. Though I didn't start my car until the temperature "rebounded" to -20 :p

What about an anti-freeze thread? I have a 2020 CTR knob, and the temp only gets to around 40F in my garage, but the knob is like ?! ?

I have to rub the knob a bunch, and play with it a bit, before I can use it for anyth.... ??‍♂ OMG...

? JK! Thought that’d make peeps laugh. ?

I have a dc5 titanium one that actually doesn’t get super hot or stay very hot for long. I’ve had many shift knobs, couple black ones. On hot days this one doesn’t even come close to burning me unlike the others.

Not a big fan of the covering of shift knobs so this works for me.
