I have the same sputter but hear a click from underneath. But goes away after rpms are down. What could that sound be. Im think injectors but what would cause the tick noise. Only when i get on it. Tia

if running boost above 25 to 27 psi, the engines internals should be built with stronger components
I feel this should be a "no shit" kind of thing. Would anyone here build a D/B/K series and run nearly 30 psi without building the motor and expect it to last? Even the stock boost is pretty high. When people ask me how much boost my tiny little 1.5 liter engine runs, they're always blown away.

Stock I rarely saw more than 14 psi, and that was going WOT in 4th gear on a steep hill...

I think they need that higher psi because Honda chose to use a tiny turbo (because it spools faster). Other cars with bigger turbos/engines don't require as much boost.

I think the WRX's max boost is 15 psi....

I think I've seen 20psi on my '17 WRX and regularly see 18-19psi in stock form. With the MAP stage 1 tune I saw ~22psi. This is all at sea level fwiw.
Thanks for correcting. Since they have a bigger turbo I heard they don't need as much boost, I read somewhere they peak at 15 PSI. You would know better than me

Actually...

Factory boost in the FA20 motor is something like 15.9 I believe. But, they are known to spike or overboost up to 20 psi for a short time.
