I’m looking to upgrade the sound quality of my new car. I currently have two 12s and an amp in my trunk, however, it takes up way too much space. I want to take the two 12s because I want to use my trunk space to haul items. Is there a way I achieve the same sound quality without the box?

Depending on how low profile your subs are, I've heard of people doing under seat subs. You may be able to go that route to free your trunk up.

I've been eyeing the Kicker 47TRTP122. They're passive, low profile, efficient, and down firing. It takes up much less space than ported boxes. Being passive, I don't know how much difference it would made feeding on the stock sub signal. They also comes in 8" and 10" versions.
