So, i see some posts on the aftermarket cooling mods for FK8, but not too much information about the 1.5t engine. I want to make this post to collect all the aftermarket/DIY solutions to cool down the engine bay. Grilles, wrap, intercooler, radiators, vents, intakes, downpipe are all allowed, but i kinda want to see how ECT / IAT and IAT2 temperatures really drops after these mods. Can we make a scientific topic to help out our civics to not heatsock after 5 minutes of spirited drive on normal temperatures  ?

Here is my contribution for the 1.5T non SI. 2018 Civic Hatch. I opened the foglight cover to match the other side for my PRL Cobra. I have seen around an 8 degree drop in IAT temps.

Nice temperature drop! Did you installed Injen Hydroshield or similar for the water that come from the holes ?

I havent really seen an issue yet with water, i do have a water repellent cover on my filter. If water becomes an issue, I will modify if need be. PRLs intake is rated for 14 inches of water. To hydrolock that thing, would have to be over 14 inches and WOT and then it still would need to make it inside the motor.

The filter doesnt sit directly behind the holes. Its more to the right and would need to be at an angle to see it.

I did some temperature measurements in the engine bay at the silicone intake pipe.
This was measured when it was 31°C outside .I saw Engine bay temps of 40 -50°C while driving and in standing traffic even up to 67 °C (without the AC fan on). This was with a all stock 1.5T MT civic .
Engine bay temps would be a max of 70-80°C.I'm going to test some air ducts to reduce the iat temps soon .

I have the same problem but there is the possibility to open some holes around the cover.

I think if you cut too high you will see the impact bar. I'm waiting for someone else to do it first so I know how it looks :p

Mesh Grille is probably my future cooling upgrade. Just a matter of which one due to being in Canada... conversion, shipping, etc. (ProCivic one makes my heart ache when I see the shipping costs due to package size lol)

Just cut it yourself. I posted how I did it on the video/photos forum. Used plastic tools and the grill was a cinch to remove. No bumber etc. I used a dremel to cut the holes and a small sanding attachment to even things out. Maybe an hour of work other than I had to charge mine once.
