I am considering an alarm with a two way pager and what to know what the rest of you think. With all of the hype I'm getting nervous. $6000 for types and wheels sounds like an easy score for the bad guys out there. Notification that my car is being broken into provides time for me to get out and stop them at gun point. A loaded gun might be an excellent deterrent.

I'm doing the same thing just because I'm not going to be able to walk back to a dealership and buy another car. Smart move.

I don't think a alarm or loaded gun Is a bad idea. I've always got my pistol with me.

That Too!!!! Can't decide......380 or 45.....or maybe Mossburg 500 pump.
Lol all three. I own both of those caliber's and a mossburg pump. But for daily carry id say 40 or 45 , 380 is a good back up. And on these cars if your investing in an alarm , get a good one.

I'm not familiar with any alarms on the current market.

What are some of the better GPS based alarms on the market today? Does anyone know if Honda is incorporating GPS location into the R?

By the way, Glock19 here.

A good alarm is worthless without a great installer. Make sure you know who you're taking your car to. Get a quality install without any corners cut.

Anyone have experience with Viper versus Compustar systems? In terms of range, reliability, sensitivity, remote quality.. etc.

A good alarm should come fitted from the factory, as should locking wheel nuts!

Is it really so much to worry about?
* You can buy Locknuts for the rims (might consider this)
* BlackVue 2Ch dashcam, front/rear (I will get this one)
* OBD2 GPS tracking device (I will get this one)

This should be more than enough to keep this car safe in my opinion. You get live tracking and you got the dashcam.
If you want to top this, you could make sure you have a AP in your car so that you dashcam feed gets uploaded to the cloud even when you're not at home close to your wifi.

Guess a total of all this would be about 500$.

Honestly if you are dropping that much on a car, an alarm and even concealing is worth it. Just hope it's like insurance and you never have to use it.
