Interesting...I had a K&N filter on my Accord, didn't notice one difference in sound or speed...always wished I didn't buy it, I won't be getting one for my civic if they make one
I thought it was an informative article, that said I will refrain from using them myself after many years of use on a variety of vehicles I've had, dirt as we all know is an engine's WORST enemy :(

Honda Civic 10th gen Aftermarket Air filters Pro's and Con's You Decide 20160806_124547 have this on my Injen Short Ram. Noticeable difference. Much larger surface area for that wonderful air.

Only vehicle I ever had benefit from a K&N air filter was a 1990 Mitsubishi Eclipse GS-T .
Gas mileage increased from 16mpg to 23mpg average. And the turbo seemed to spool up a bit quicker.
I've installed short ram intakes on my Vibe , 99 Civic EX and my current 97 Accord - only gained noise and less air filtration.
From what I've learned you can have flow and you can have good filtration.
But you can't have both.
You have to give some up of one to attain an increase in the other.
I personally prefer filtration over flow, it helps the engine last longer.

I like when those companies like K&N claim you can get something like 2-3 hp with their filter. Wow. That's equivalent to loosing what, like 5 pounds, and then going for a drive. I don't think you'll notice the difference. :p
