Sup y’all.
Got some info for ya.
I got a ctr IM/TB a while back in hopes of it bolting right up to my sport, but It won’t without modification which I’m working on. The bottom of the ctr tb is obstructed by the shifter cable holder for me, but like I said I’m working on it.
Anyway… I happen to stumble upon a 17 accord 3.5 throttle body for 40 bucks shipped. Didn’t know if it would work, I knew it was bigger, bought it anyway.
Turns out the j35 TB pn: 16400-5G0-A01 bolts up to ctr IM.
Ctr tb:
62.5/60.5mm inlet/outlet
2.75 in coupler req.
J35 TB:
67.5/64.5mm inlet/outlet
3.00 in coupler req.
Ctr IM inlet: 65.5mm. Almost perfect for the tb outlet.
Had to shave the bumps down on IM with my dremel and shift TB towards the bottom right because there’s a breather hole on tb and won’t seal if centered. Still seals after shift.
I don’t have results as I don’t have a type r but just passing along info I learned and maybe an r owner wants to tackle this very affordable upgrade and post results.
Do what you will with this information bestowed upon you.
Ps. I cut the coolant pipes bc I have it already deleted on my car
