Hi,

I got my Aegean Blue 2018 Type R in March of this year. It replaces my 2016 Miata ND. I am totally enjoying this car. It's my Daily, with a couple of little mods. Replaced the yellow signal lens, with smokey black, Eibach 2017-2021 Pro-Kit Spring Set, replaced the Fog Lamp Grill, with a Open Mesh Fog Lamp. Did some work on the brakes,
HP PLUS SPORT PADS - ENHANCED COMPOUND
G-STOP BRAKELINE KIT
HP600 500ML BOTTLE RACE BRAKE FLUID
Finally replaced the coolant with Engine Ice.

All because I am going to Track the car. First event is Atlanta Motorsport Park, follow by Barber Motorsport Park.

The Type R, is going to be my long distance track car, I have a 2012 370Z I also track.

It's such a fun car....

Cheers

Well this is the week, first time going to track my Type-R
First up is Atlanta Motorsport Park (AMP) for a SCCA Track Night
Then on Saturday will be at Barber Motorsport Park for HPDE/Track day.

I am very familiar with AMP, since this is the my main track, I have been tracking there in my 370z.
I have done Barber once, last year also in my Z.

So it will be just understanding Front wheel drive vs rear wheel drive.

Changed the title of my thread, going to more in adventures with it.
So I complete my first track event. It was SCCA Track night at Atlanta Motorsport Park (AMP). Got 27 laps in the 3 20 minute sessions. Have a lot of learning to do, on how to drive this car vs my 370z. But all the track prep paid off, no issues with oil/water/brakes. That's a home run for me.
So here is the best lap of the night 1.42.37, enjoy the video.....

Back from Barber, it was interesting and fun. Thou it does take learning to drive differently. I was using 2nd, 3rd, and 4th. Found out from a friend only really needed to use 3rd and 4th to keep the turbo going. So I did try it that way the last 2 sessions and got down to a 2:00:49. Still learning about the car and how to drive. With 20 minute sessions had no problem with cooling or brakes. Everything worked well.

Here is the video of my best lap

Well today, I did post track inspection, which includes looking at tires and checking brakes. Getting ready for Road Atlanta on Friday. Hoping the weather clears up. Rain in the forecast,,,,,

Did my post track inspection, Brakes are down about another 1mm, seems the trend is a mm per track day, Tires are ok, I did rotate the front to the back and vice versa. Overall, the car came through Road Atlanta with no issues. No problems with any water or oil temps. Solid running car. Just would like more Brake and Tires. Tires/wheels looking into it.

Next track day will be Mid-Ohio in September, also it will see the tail of the dragon sometime this year..
