Is it possible to install the module on 17-19 model?

I dont like how any of the exhausts really sound. I feel the active sound control + HVI will be perfect for me.

Wondering if it's plug and play or not possible.

Thank You!

I don't think it's possible to do that but may be someone can shed some light if we can retrofit

I honestly doubt it’s possible to do. Most people who want a louder exhaust note just get a different exhaust. An active exhaust will also get you the adjustability aspect of the active sound control as well.

Unless you’ve driven in a ‘20 I wouldn’t venture down this path. It drove me nuts in my 20’ and it was unplugged within a week.
Damn its that bad? Probably good idea then lol, I usually have music and podcasts blasting anyway haha

You may enjoy it, but I would say there is a reason for all the threads and YouTube tutorials on disabling it. Like @boosted180sx said, it’s very artificial.

I like the active sound control. I have it on my M2 and now on the Type-R. I know plenty of negativity about it but to me it just gives another dimension to the cars. I really don't notice it that much until I hear it via my GoPro. Nothing wrong with it, it's just a matter of individual preference.

Anyone find out if its possible to retrofit?
I would say the wiring harness is completely different to accommodate the injection of the exhaust note into the car stereo/sound system. Not even sure the existing head unit has an input for it unless specced that way from factory.

Sounds like a lot of investigation is required. Just wish I had a spare facelift Type R lying around ?

Personally, I like exhaust sound as well as boobs to be all natural. ;) Just say no to fake!

21' here.

1. sounds very unnatural, artificial humming noise.
2. I've toggled between drive modes and focused on the sounds change. it was very subtle to be honest, barely any difference to me.

I don't really understand the need for this feature. You want to hear the exhaust note? Get catback and roll down the window.
