This whole A/C debacle is such a mess. I recently had my condenser replaced again for the 3rd time by my local Honda dealer on my 2018 Civic 34k miles on it. But, they also said they had to replace the evaporator and expansion valve. They noted on my work order receipt that refrigerant was venting into the cabin through the vents. I wonder if that's a dangerous health issue.
Anyways....first the Service Manager wanted $4800 for the repair. Then after about an hour they said $3600 but he would call American Honda for help on the cost. Another hour later they said Honda will pay a portion and I would pay $850. So I had it done, and the Service Advisor said my A/C should be ok for about 2 years (?)..... I'm still wondering about the health effects of R1234 venting into the cabin that I was breathing in for months.
