Good info. How exactly would one get alerted when new service bulletins come out?

Also some people that work from Honda are saying that it's not essentially a recall and only a service bulletin so it's used for " in case of failure situations"

My understanding is that this will save Honda from issuing a complete recall since not everyone needs their condenser fixed.

Yea definitely, I didn't see a way on the Honda website to get alerts for new service bulletins so just thought I'd ask here

Where exactly is the condenser located on the 1.5 ?
Am I right in thinking with the intercooler where It is, it isn't going to be so easy for Honda to say it was hit by something like they have so many times to some of you?

There is quite literally no way road debris can damage the condenser. Down low, the condenser is behind and therefore protected by the intercooler.
Higher up, there’s no way rocks and such could pass through the grille openings and hit the condenser, there’s no straight through path.
Can’t see how Honda dealers can claim road debris damage to the condenser when the intercooler would rightly be damaged first unless it’s just to deny a claim.
But hey, that would never happen, right?

Many Thanks .. at last, an Official Honda Service Bulletin about part of the A/C issues.

"Oh, what a tangled web Honda Weaves, its customer to Deceive"

But question remains, exactly what REPLACEMNT Condenser are they fitting ?
Seems to have the same part number, so how does one (or the dealer) know if it is one from a defective production run, or a good one.

ref 80100-TBC-A01 (for 1.5L) $133 ($100 sale price from Online Honda stores)

which would be great, apart from the fact that that Part number is now a DISCONTINUED PART !!!

https://www.hondapartsnow.com/genuine/honda~condenser~assy~80100-tbc-a01.html

There is also the question of the Suction Tube, that has been replaced on some cars, (Particularly by some European Dealers, where there appears to be a Service Bulletin, that is not available to the USA Dealers ??

Not yet been able to see/get a full copy of this SUCTION TUBE Service Bulletin,

Interesting when does the maths on replacement cost !

Assuming say $150 / hr (High side)

Inspect A/C for leaks 0.5 hrs = $75
Replace the Condenser 1,5 hrs = $225

Parts: Condenser $130
Seals $10
R1234yf (approx 1 lb) $200 (from bulk 30lb bottle)

So approx $640 not $2400 (400% Markup !!)

EXACLTY .. and how many issues of INTERCOOLER Damage do we see reported ?
(Do not recall seeing even ONE on this forum )

Honda Civic 10th gen AC PROBLEM finally on warranty Si-Condenser after 9 months

INTERCOOLER .. The Condenser is Behind this, and extends upwards out of view.

Note: So far, nobody has actually Posted any pictures of a Honda GENX Condenser damaged by Road Debris, either here on the forum, or anywhere else on the Internet.

This whole pack of cards lie about ROAD DAMAGE is about to come crashing down.

Don't know how you'd know if the intercooler had a leak? Maybe you could detect pressurized air from the turbocharger exiting the intercooler at the leak location?

Service bulletins go to dealers - not to us owners.

OP: thanks for posting the actual TSB, which says: "Owners of affected vehicles will be sent a notification..."

Meaning, if Honda knows the condenser in your particular VIN wasn't made to Honda spec, then Honda should be sending you a notice about extending the warranty on that part.

Otherwise, someone with access could run your VIN to see if your car is "affected".

Is this not a issue with the 2019 civics? I just bought one a couple weeks ago.
