Not sure if anyone cares... just want to give an update on the ac prob here. Just got my car back from honda dealership. They replaced the ac evaporator and refilled the freon again. Left it there for 3 days, which is shorter than their estimated 5 days.

Right away i feel the difference in the coldness that the ac is producing. It got cold quicker. All under warranty.

Lets see how long this will last.

When it happened to mine it was the compressor that failed.

so driver side and passenger side have two separate compressor unit???
Nope. There are flaps in the ducts that are servo operated that change the mixture of hot and cold air or at least reduce the amount of cold air. Works way better than I ever thought it would. My wife loves the dual climate feature bigtime as I prefer it a little warmer than her.

lol I take that as a sarcasm?
driver and passenger side vent should have the same temperature output

but my 2017 LX auto ..... driver side is warm / cool, but passenger side is colder

Maybe on the Candain LX, but many Civic Models have dual zone climate control.. ie separate settings for driver & passenger.

"driver side is warm / cool, but passenger side is colder" = typical symptom of low Refrigerant level - guess what -- YOU HAVE A LEAK !!

Exactly Scope.

The EX, EX-T, Touring and Sport sedans and coupes in Canada all have dual zone climate and I have an EX.

How many miles was in your car when they did the ac service?

Update: dealer lied to me about $80 diagnostic. Its actually $360.
They said if my condenser is leaking, they will cover it 100%.

I bought myself a dye freon and am going to diagnost it myself.

You better have bought R1234YF or you are going to be one upset dude...

Also, the diagnostics is stupid. They should be able to inspect for the visual defects on the surface of the condenser that are even mentioned in the recall.

No, I had slightly cold air on the passengers side and warm air blowing on the drivers and when they checked, they said the compressor had failed. I had already taken it in for a noise at idle that sounded like bearings in the compressor but they said they weren't able to duplicate and I told the writer that at least it was documented so that if it failed it would be on them.

So my lines have no pressure. I filled my ac lines with just one can of R1234yf with dye and I heard my clutch kicked in. Its blowing cold air now.
This was 2 weeks ago.

There is definitely a leak. As of today, my car is still blowing cold air. Im gonna check if I have any leaks right now.
