The offset on the set I'm looking at is 40, should I look at something 45+?

18x9.5 +40 on 265/35 or 255/40 will be fine on stock height.

I don't think Enkei TSV comes with +45 offset, only +40. Personally, +45 is too tucked in for me, and I'd love to go with +35, but I don't want to trim the fender or plastic. I prefer the fat tire look of 265 vs. the slight stretch look of 255. So +40 or +38 is the furthest I want to push. I don't understand why people get aftermarket wheels with crappy offsets, either too aggressive or too tucked in.

Everybody has their own style preference in terms of wheel appearance but I think the 18x9 +35 fitment with respect to the top of the fenders is ideal. That's what I went with on the Kansei Corsas.

Put 245/40 (all-season for Maryland Winters) on them and even in comfort, with a 4-person load, no rubbing on moderately spirited driving. Didn't kick the back end out or anything but I don't see any reason why anybody would with 4 people in comfort mode.

Only time I rubbed on +40 was on a track going up a right corner hill with full load going to the rear corner. Even then, I was able to just rub away the tire mark with water by hand. I dont think there should be any issues with rubbing with +45 or even +40 driving normally on the road. Of course that's if you plan on getting 265 width. Any bigger, you may rub.
