(2017 Touring Coupe - 1.5T CVT) So I want to start off by saying, I know that the injectors are very noisy in these cars but I don't remember it being like this.

I have the PRL short-ram intake and the HKS Legamax Exhaust on the car for mods.

I stopped off in a parking lot after driving today and popped open my hood, to make sure my intake was still seated well and I heard a ticking noise that was louder than it usually is. I was pretty concerned and I got in the car and revved it up, and the ticking sped up . I'm pretty sure that didn't happen before with just injector sounds.

I would LOVE some input. Are these just normal noisy AF injectors or am I in deep trouble?

Open hood:

Revving it up (You can hear the ticking speed up but you might need to turn up the volume and it's hard to hear over the exhaust 💪)

There's also a great chance this is just the normal injector sounds and I'm just super paranoid. Although, I never remember the injector tick speeding up when you rev it.

So after some research, I've found that the injector tick will go faster when you rev. I'm thinking the reason that I'm noticing it more now is that the intake has amplified this sound.

I would still love any feedback if you have any. Thank you.

Sounds like my worn out timing chain when I had my S2000.

I just went to the dealership for maintenance about a week ago, it's odd they wouldn't say something if that was the case. (Maintenance was an oil change, brake fluid change, and CVT fluid change)
Is there a way for me to easily check the timing chain?

That sound is the injectors. They speed up with the engine speed. They tick twice per revolution. They are extremely loud. Sometimes they make less or more noise.

There's nothing wrong with it

That's a relief, is it possible that the intake make the injectors louder?

Everything effects them. If you insist on there being a problem, maybe the foam cover fell off. It's about 6 shop hours to check.

Eh, I'm alright with extra noise as long as I know it's just the injectors :drive:
