I am also looking for it. I feel my wheel is sticking. I tried cleaning with turtle wax interior protectant and also used some leather wipes I have at home.

I am planning to get a new steering wheel now as the synthetic leather on the steering wheel is not that good/ inferior quality

Yeah my “leather“ :rolleyes1: wheel is looking rough after 18 months of use. Tried leather cleaners and protectants and it still looks pretty worn. Good thing it’s a lease and in another 18 months, when I give the car back, it’s their problem.

I followed this technique , my sterring wheel still has that matte finish to it after 60k miles . I used zymol leather cleaner & zymol leather conditioner .

Autoglym leather spray cleaner and leather care balm is what I've used. It doesn't leave a slick or shiny residue. I can't say how it is in the long run since I haven't had any of my cars long enough to know but Autoglym is pretty good stuff and it has a Royal Warrant, so.

My steering wheel looks good and it's not faded or worn. It's just little sticky for some reason. I cleaned it multiple times ?‍♂

What brand / kind of cleaner are you using ? More than likely that's what's causing it to feel that way. Get a soft bristle brush and use that for cleaning .

Oof!! Umm. NO GUYS!! Whatcha really need (no puns or trickery) is something called "Saddle Soap™".. can usually find it in a tack shop (think horses, saddles and leather shops) for just a few $$ (a little goes a Loooooong way, dab some on a cotton cloth, then wipe the leathers. It'll look night/day & has been trusted by country folks for near a century and has been the best leather care product I've ever witnessed and seen. It'll make some brittle, dry leather into pliable & actually usable again. If I ever get a leather wheel/shifter, that Saddle Soap™ would be one of the 1st things I do to it for any age prevention and care.

As a part-time auto detailer, I suggest that steering wheel / shift knob leather be cleaned with a light-colored microfiber towel soaked in water (to see any dirt and oils). Very soft brushes may be used for heavily soiled leather. Then, coat the leather wheel with this: https://leatherworldtech.com/leather-world-protection-cream/

I never use cleaners for fear of breaking down the coating on the leather wheel. The protection cream resists dirt and oil. I find store bought "leather cleaners and protectants" are too harsh and leave too shiny a finish. IMHO, leather should have a rather matte finish.

Good luck.

I clean my wheel with Lexox cleaner and conditioner unfortunately the top of my wheel is damaged maybe scrubbing a little hard or just a result of using cheap leather cleaner or the oils of my hands

I haven't cleaned the Civic's steering wheel yet, but my previous car had a tan colored wheel & I just used a towel dampened with water & it did a good job because you really see the difference. No harsh chemicals & no sticky film.

Wow, and I’ve only been using a microfiber towel and warm water for the last 20+ years on various vehicles in our fleet with no issues.
