A/C System Fail in European Cars

What were the symptoms?

A/C worked less and less efficient over the past 2 years. Now 300g of gas was missing.

2x Condenser changed in warranty
2x abs sensors from rear (R+L) in warranty

Condenser manufacturer has poor quality, too weak it cant handle pressure.

Condenser changed at 65 000km

Covered by warranty as it was leaking but no impact visible.

Problem has been apparently solved on late pre facelift models (2019).

Took it in for regular maintenance and they say they'd replace the condenser in a few weeks (part delivery time) as a warranty case, because the old one has spots on it. No leakage, no decreace in efficiency.

In case somebody is interested. This is how my condenser looked like 1day(!) after refill+uv dye (image with the 3 spots) and 3 months after refill. dealer told in october that they will ask honda germany about replacement, now they tell me on phone that they didnt send out anything. But they will do now. NOW that Im above the 100.000 km mark. Basically no chance of free repair.
There is no visible damage on the condenser (only the intercooler is damaged a bit), no damage from stones, nothing. Condenser is just dirty. I assume it’s a small amount of oil from the a/c system mixed with dust.
I’m not amused.

That ac broke down pretty fast. Hopefully this is just an exception for facelift models and not the rule.

Oh man, that's a lot of issues. That's what I'd rather expect from a Volkswagen, not from Honda.

Yes, Lights in the dash except abs light but via Honda program u can see that abs sensor can't get information all the time.

Those are common problems in civic. Right front shock leak aswell.

Never heard of broken ABS sensors before, didn't know that's a common issue with the 10th gen Civic. I'm glad they fixed it under warranty.

My AC condensor failed after four years and 40,000 miles. The Honda shop did a great job, they were really fast.

The AC was already broken shortly after the car was out of warranty at 31,000 miles.
But back then, I was at another Honda shop and they told me, that the AC relay went bad and charged €140 for diagnosis, labour and the relay.
I'm not convinced that they were telling the truth. I thought they made this one up, only to recharge the AC and take some of my money lol

I have 2019 sport plus model and also had this problem. Acutally i bought it used from a local dealer with 57000km with a broken ac pump. They have replaced it for free though
