Route 97 North/South through the Hawks Nest outside Port Jervis, NY now has a 35mph speed limit. It used to be 55mph, but occasionally some folks would overestimate their skills on their bike or in their car and bin it.
Thankfully it opens back up to 55mph with minimal exception, which offered ample opportunity to overtake the spanner in the Explorer. I usually run a loop up 97 to Barryville where I hang a left onto 434 over the Delaware into Shohola, then take another left onto Twin Lakes Rd. Now Twin Lakes Rd is also 35mph, but I've yet to see any actual enforcement there and there are quite a few twisties that our cars will eat up. Roads in PA are surprisingly well maintained so minimal opportunity park in a pot hole as well.
