So I haven't seen any 8th mile threads on here. 8th mile tracks have become pretty common in my area, more so the 1/4 mile tracks. A couple friends were going to track to test their cars, so I took my stock 19 sedan to the 8th mile last night just to see what she would run. Nice chilly temps, seemed like a good night for the turbo. I wanted to see what she would do under normal setup, like she would be on the street. So.... full tank of gas and 35psi in the stock all season tires. First run launched at 3200rpm and spun heavy and got a 10.542. Next run I missed shifting to 2nd gear and again got another 10.5. With that I knew I could get it under 10s. Made several more passes at varying rpm. My best time was 9.889 launching it at 2700rpm. Found that to be pretty good. Funny part was when I pulled up to line going against my friend's 95 Impala SS, we heard someone in the crowd say, "look at this guy in a Honda." After I pulled my friend by .23 of a second at 9.88 they weren't laughing at her anymore and people were shocked that it was bone stock. I was quite impressed with her stock baseline numbers. Made me happy to see her getting times better than some of the guys laughing at her when we first pulled into the staging lines.
