2020 Si with Pherable 1.5 tune right now. KTuner 1.2. Were going from St Louis to Keystone, CO in the second week of December and would like to run 87 for the trip to save money. If this tune only has 150hp for this trip I'm fine with that.

What's the best route to take? Put the Factory Starting Point tune on and put the boost target at about 10-12psi. The drop timing a couple degrees. Or would my best option be go back to stock and let the ECU deal with 87 knowing I won't have any hot air and just stay out of the throttle.

I haven't messed with tuning KTuner at all but 14 years ago I had a full stand alone Megasquirt on my daily driver engine swapped minivan for 42k miles.

I wouldn't run an Si for an extended period on 87 even on the stock tune. Definitely not on a KTuner tune starting point or not. Maybe run the stock tune and fill up on 89, if you can lay off the throttle during the trip?

920 miles. Average 35mpg. 26 gallons of gas used. Price difference between 87 and premium .60.

For a grand total of....

$15.60 saved.

Just put the right fuel in the car.
