Long overdue update

It's been a minute since I've updated this and a few things have changed. Some are pretty big, some minor, but cool none the less.

First off. Eibach Prokit springs got installed along with the BMSpec front airdam I've been sitting on for a few months now (almost a year :confused1:). Had both installed at the same time at the same shop. They did it at a fair price, and I've continued to get work done by them.

Oooooh the stance, the fitment

IMG_20200419_123240.jpg

Dat lip doe

I also did some lighting changes. I went from amber to JDM yellow fog light vinyl overlays to match my super bright LED highbeams. I had an encounter with some road debris that took out one of my fog lights. Lamin-x did its job though, and there was no crack in the lens. I took the opportunity to install some HID fogs in. I used some Xenon Depot bulbs I got on clearance and some DDM ballasts, both from Brisource.com . Borderline too bright, but the color and visibility in inclement weather... ? The glare might be dangerous though, and I'm debating on switching back to halogens.

Fogs only

IMG_20200114_050518.jpg

So shiny

I also got a set of white smoked Helix side markers from Unity Performance. Rocking the harlequin two tone alla @CanadiaegeanBlue

IMG_20200408_194824.jpg

So slick

And now, turbo time! I took advantage of tax time sales and got a PRL catted downpipe and the MHI TD03 turbo upgrade. The downpipe has added a nice growl to the stock exhaust note and even some burbles. I'm currently in the middle of a street tune for the turbo and will hit a dyno with results soon. Per the shop that did the install, the install was fast and the turbo bolted right up with no issues. Time will tell if the price difference over the W1 is worth it, but given my power goals, I'm ok with it.

IMG_20200330_140059.jpg

Not really that big

IMG_20200406_124754.jpg

Can you tell it's been done??

Most recently, I went full Acuity shifter add-ons. I added the cable bushings. I installed the smaller bushing upside down and posted the pic on IG. Acuity DM me and pointed out my error. I corrected my upside-down-ness soon after. Big props to them for the solid!!!

IMG_20200420_072750.jpg

They definitely give each shift a satisfying finish everytime. I'm surprised how subtle yet substantial the difference is. The shifts just feel more solid and secure. I may make the jump to a full Hybrid or Acuity short shifter, but I don't know... This is pretty darn good.

As usual, sorry so pic heavy.

More to come...

Complete tune and dyno
Clutch?
Who knows what else
What size wheels you running? Will fitment be the same with me running 19x8.5” bbs wheels?

I'm running 18x9.5 +35 with 245/40 tires

Not sure what 19' would be like. The tires would also affect it. I'd try a fitment calculator to see the differences. I like this one.

Anyone know where i can order the side skirts, rear diffuser, and wing from??? Thanks in advanced

I think that car is from Turkey. I'd check eBay and Instagram

The issue with that wing is that when you remove the oem one on the Si sedan there are holes where plastic tabs hold onto the trunk lid (sucks) so now im stuck looking for the duckbill which in my opinion look better anyways

Subbed, cant wait to see what the turbo does. Glad someone is testing it out
Still getting the etune worked out. Hopefully I'll have it done and on a dyno sooner than later

oh noes...

My beloved floor mats have worn through...

Honda Civic 10th gen 86salmon Lunar Silver Si IMG_20200507_002120

The heel pad isn't wide enough for my clutch foot and wore through. I picked up
another set with a wider floor pad. They aren't as swanky though.

Honda Civic 10th gen 86salmon Lunar Silver Si IMG_20200507_011132

I guess I shouldn't expect much for the price. I'm gonna use this for daily, but considering I only wore out a drivers mat, I wanted to find a way to fix it.

I began to search for heel pads. I found a few rubber examples, but I didn't like their appearance. There was a black aluminum pad that wasn't quite as wide as I wanted. Then I found a
polished aluminum one. I wasn't completely sold on it's look, but it was the best I could find, so I pulled the trigger.

Packed in foam with hardware

Honda Civic 10th gen 86salmon Lunar Silver Si IMG_20200507_002209

Along with bolts, nuts, and washers came a punch. The old pad had small screws holding it on. They were easily removed with a Phillips screwdriver.

The extra width covers the heel hole and should protect from further wear

Honda Civic 10th gen 86salmon Lunar Silver Si IMG_20200507_005223

Another comparison look

I used an original hole to start, and with the aid of the punch, bolted the new pad up

The mats have a bit of slide, so I added a couple Eagle Klaw anchors to keep them in place. It's a pretty nice kit with a sharp cutter to install the sharp spiked anchors.

Honda Civic 10th gen 86salmon Lunar Silver Si IMG_20200507_010742

The cutter is VERY sharp. Be careful with it. It went through the mat with ease and the claws screw together with ease.

In all, I'm pretty happy with the end result. I can feel the plate under both feet, and it's pretty comfortable

In other news...

I'm on yet another tune. My tuner has been slowly advancing timing. I'm eager to get on a dyno and see where the output ends up

Sorry I'm extra pic heavy this post

More to come...

New goodies

Got a couple things in the past couple weeks.

First up
Honda Civic 10th gen 86salmon Lunar Silver Si IMG_20200601_104532

A little bundle of joy from Acuity!

Honda Civic 10th gen 86salmon Lunar Silver Si IMG_20200601_105447

Esco in red and black and a ten pack of air freshener double cup sexy smell

Rocking the black right now

Honda Civic 10th gen 86salmon Lunar Silver Si IMG_20200609_195220

I've been using it for a couple weeks now. It's a touch bigger and heavier than the Mishimoto cf knob I'd been using, and works well with all the other Acuity parts. It's a nice cherry on top of the ice cream the Acuity shifter mods already are. Really finished off the great feel they added.

Now we'll see how hot it gets in the upcoming months ?

Next up... some maintenance type stuff.

From Autogeek

Foam sprayer garden hose attachment. Overrall it has a fairly study feeling construction

It has a quick connect to switch between foaming and rinse. There's a handy brass fixture at the nozzle to titrate your mix ratio. I'm currently using it with Meguiars gold class and a rinse bucket. I'm doing quick once over to presoak, then applying directly to my micro fiber wash mitt.

From S&B

Got a cleaning kit and a backup filter to switch to while the fresh cleaned filter dries and... Ummm... Cures? Lol while the oil sets

Honda Civic 10th gen 86salmon Lunar Silver Si IMG_20200609_203530

In blue of course.
Nice kit with a spray bottle and graduated measuring applicator for proper amount of oil per s&b filter specs

Last bit

AF Dynamic heat shield for cone filter

It comes disassembled, but well packaged.

Heat shield plate, adhesive backed insulation, and rubber trim

I'll get some temps in the next day or two and see if it does anything other than look shiny

That's it for now

Sorry so pic heavy

That heat shield intrigues me a lot, especially since my BMS is on the way (shipping delays of course). Will be keeping an eye on your temp updates!

That heat shield rattles quite a lot in my car on low rpms so it's gone lol
