I need opinions for the distant, distant, DISTANT future! Assuming that the CVT in the car starts to falter within five or six years and I got the money laying around, would it be possible/feasible to switch to a 6MT then? I really love these Civics and I 100% intend on keeping mine for 10+ years or something like that and since I initially shared this car with family I had to get the CVT but I've taken on all the payments and I'm just thinking down the line, is it possible? I'd trade in but I really am attached to my car and I've done a few small mods here and there that I wouldn't want to 1) lose money on and 2) literally lose the mods lol. Any advice and insight into how this would look please let me know!

Very,Very expensive....and complicated with the ECU I believe.

Be cheaper to trade it.

All said and done it's just a car, try not to get too attached to it.

The only cost effective way would be to find a donor car sometime down the road.

Trade it in. Swapping transmissions in the same car makes virtually no sense.

Just an FYI- there's a few people on the FB group with 120k+ on the 1.5/CVT with no issues yet.

As an owner of the car probably most 6MT swapped ever (2002-2003 WRX) it's better to just buy another car with the stuff you want in it.

I've looked into 6MT swapping my WRX a ton, but I just can't justify it. Mainly because the STI 6MT is like $4000 used... but there is so many little things you have to buy also. It's just not worth the money.

Pull your mods to put on another Civic and trade it for one with the features you want.
