Is that 4th gear? Or another gear? Not familiar with the gear layout.

Same here but I’m assuming that’s 4th since that’s the gear that completely went out for me.

Tried to get a look at the gutters on mine today, but I think I need to go in from the bottom, can't get an angle from the top.

Yep that's 4th gear. The "shorter" gears are 1st, and 2nd at the top and the taller gears at the end are the overdrive gears

Damn bro, how much power are you pushing? The gearing was wearing over time, you must of felt some shifting issues going on weeks before the gear gave. Unfortunately for those running power 300 whp and over would need to treat 3rd gear as the "WOT" gear and 4th and on as overdrive gears. Building the gears is just as important as building the engine as it turn out...

Probably near 280-300ish wheel never been dyno’d before I have an e tune from drob tho. I actually didn’t have any issues with my 4th gear or had any signs of wear until it went out randomly. The only gear that was giving me issues was my first but we thought it was just a bad clutch until 4th got obliterated lol

Those are beauties! From the pricing of those gears, they gotta be designed to take a beating! If that's the case the teeth probably weakened, a few shattered and then poof! Once you get those installed in the casing, I'm curious how they feel driving as a daily

The PPG will wine like most racing style gears unfortunately. But in terms of power. I believe there advertised to support 800hp. And racing/drag conditions.

Honda HPD gearset seems to be the best OEM feel with extra strength. No "normal" can get them tho ?

I could live with a whine, and even a more aggressive feeling gearing, just not harshness. Also if your running at 4000 rpm at 70 mph in 6th gear, I don't think I would want to live that as well
